Scalable Security: How Nurseries and Schools Can Start Small and Grow

As part of its ongoing commitment to expanding awareness and education around intelligent access solutions, UK keyless and wireless access control provider SimonsVoss recently joined the FAAC Tech Talks 2025 – a dynamic four-city roadshow held across Ireland in Galway, Limerick, Kilkenny, and Dublin.

Organised by FAAC Ireland, a leading manufacturer and distributor of automated access systems, the Tech Talks series was designed to bring together its partner ecosystem to showcase the latest access control technologies. With four accessible venues spread across the country, the event offered security professionals, installers, and facilities managers a hands-on look at modern security solutions. Dublin stood out as the largest gathering, drawing considerable footfall and industry engagement.

 A Strong Presence Through Partnership

SimonsVoss UK played a prominent role at the event, exhibiting alongside FAAC to spotlight their seamless product integration. As a valued technology partner of FAAC, SimonsVoss showcased how its solutions, particularly the SmartIntego system, work in harmony with FAAC software, offering comprehensive, wire-free access control for commercial and institutional environments.

Bruce Donald, National Sales Manager for the UK & Ireland at SimonsVoss, led the demonstrations and conversations across all four locations. Speaking directly with attendees, Bruce emphasised the significant cost savings and rapid installation benefits of wireless locking over traditional hardwired systems.

For example, while a conventional hardwired door can cost over €1,500 and may limit installers to just 2 door setups per day, SimonsVoss wireless locking offers a streamlined alternative – typically around €500 per door, with the capability to fit 50 to 100 doors per day.

These figures underscored the powerful case for wireless adoption, particularly in time-sensitive or large-scale deployments.

Engaging Conversations & Industry Insights

Event visitors showed strong interest in core features such as battery life, fire regulation compliance, and ease of integration. The SimonsVoss UK team delivered multiple live demos and fielded technical queries, which opened the door (pun intended!) to new leads and deeper understanding of the current challenges faced by installers and building managers in Ireland.

Beyond commercial outcomes, the event served as a platform to engage directly with stakeholders and provide valuable education on the advantages of wireless access control, from reduced wiring requirements to simplified project management.

A Strategic Step in Market Engagement

By participating in the FAAC Tech Talks series, SimonsVoss UK further cemented its commitment to supporting partners like FAAC while promoting its intelligent access technologies across the UK and Ireland. Events like these are instrumental in reinforcing the brand’s visibility in the region and advancing the narrative around next-generation access control.

The team returns energised, having connected with a broad spectrum of industry professionals – from locksmiths and installers to security consultants and facilities managers – and looks forward to continuing the conversation about wireless transformation in access control.
